Christian theology can fit in science, art, morality, and the sub-Christian religions. The scientific point of view cannot fit in any of these things, not even science itself. I believe in Christianity as I believe that the Sun has risen, not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s from an essay, &#8220;Is Theology Poetry?&#8221; by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cslewis.com\/\">C.S. Lewis<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Wow.<\/p>\n<p>As it happens, I&#8217;m also reading Paul Davies&#8217; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0618592261?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=accretiondisc-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=0618592261\">Cosmic Jackpot: Why Our Universe Is Just Right for Life<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=accretiondisc-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=0618592261\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/>, which I thought was about the Cosmological <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anthropic_principle\">Anthropic Principle<\/a>. But it turns out it&#8217;s more <em>meta<\/em> than that. (Or maybe the Anthropic Principle is that <em>meta<\/em>.) Anyway, one of the interesting conclusions I&#8217;ve drawn by the halfway point is that science really <em>can&#8217;t<\/em> fit itself in.
