{"id":8,"date":"2008-05-01T17:34:17","date_gmt":"2008-05-02T00:34:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.deserthillspc.org\/?p=5"},"modified":"2008-05-01T17:34:17","modified_gmt":"2008-05-02T00:34:17","slug":"5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/messofpottage.com\/blog\/2008\/05\/01\/5\/","title":{"rendered":"A Spiritual gift i don&#8217;t think about much"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I saw something new in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=judg%2014:5-6;&#038;version=72;\">Judges 14:5-6<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The spirit of the LORD rushed on him, and he tore the lion apart barehanded as one might tear apart a kid.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I realized I have tended to think of the Spirit of the Lord as conferring gifts and abilities that are, well, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gifts_of_the_Holy_Spirit\">spiritual<\/a>.&#8221; I haven&#8217;t usually thought of the Spirit as conferring gifts of strength. This is dumb of me for two reasons. First, when I say &#8220;spiritual,&#8221; most of the time I&#8217;m really thinking &#8220;cerebral.&#8221; That much even I know is wrong. But the second way I&#8217;m wrong is I ask God to give me strength many times a day &#8212; sometimes in so many words, sometimes with more flowers.
